Our Next Chapter

For  over four years, The Packaged Good (TPG) has been teaching children to  “do good” with a mission to help shape the next generation of  philanthropists. During that time, thousands of children came through  its doors to create care packages and to learn the impact their efforts  would have on those in need. Thank you for being a part of those  efforts.

In  March, TPG was forced to halt in-person programming after the pandemic  hit. Since that time, it has hosted on-line experiences that featured  local heroes and has been collaborating with local charities to provide  care packages for those in need. With the uncertainty of when TPG will  be able to resume in-person programming and knowing there is an  emergency assistance need in our community, the Board  of Directors has voted to dissolve The Packaged Good corporation and  move its programming as part of Solidarity Sandy Springs. While a difficult decision, this will enable TPG to  continue its mission while helping to meet the critical needs our  community is now facing.

Solidarity Sandy Springs opened its doors initially as a food pantry in response to the pandemic  in March 2020. To date, it has provided food to 20,000 people  who otherwise would go without. While it began as a food pantry,  Solidarity Sandy Springs has now expanded to provide additional  resources to those in need in our community. Individuals of all ages and  abilities have volunteered in person during the pandemic or at home to  help deliver the impact Solidarity Sandy Springs has had in such a short  time. Through The Packaged Good program under Solidarity Sandy Springs,  families will continue to have the opportunity to make care packages  for those in need, either in person or at home.

We are truly grateful  for Sally Mundell and her family who created this wonderful opportunity  for our community in memory of her husband, Grover. We hope you will  follow us to our new home.
