Our last day at SSUMC is Feb 8th. ~ Follow our social media for updates!
Our pantry started in March 2020 to help food-insecure families during the COVID shutdowns. That grew into a community movement to help overlooked families. It is our great honor to help those families feel uplifted, supported and food secure.
We serve 750-800 families per week and have served over 100,000 shoppers.
Hello Solidarity Neighbors!
We have heard from many of you over the past week, and fear not!! Solidarity Sandy Springs is NOT disbanding! While we search for a new permanent location for the Pantry, we will still continue to serve our shoppers and help reduce the impact of food insecurity on individuals and families in our community. How are we going to do this? By taking our show on the road! Life is a highway, and we are ready to ride it.
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting pop-up pantries at several locations around Sandy Springs in the coming weeks. These mobile markets will allow us to continue to serve our shoppers by coming to them, and our clients will still be able to choose the foods they will put on their tables. Keep your eyes open for communication and volunteer sign-ups regarding the dates and locations of upcoming Solidarity Sandy Springs "Portable Pantry" days. It's time to hit the road for a new adventure - if you have thoughts on a prospective location please reach out as we are currently building our calendar.
How can you help? We need your strong arms to help load the box trucks. We need your smiling faces to greet our shoppers at our pop-up locations. We need your kind guidance as assistant shoppers for our clients. We need you now more than ever as we pivot to a temporary traveling pantry before re-establishing our more traditional shop in our new location!
Speaking of hitting the road, did you know that the Atlanta Hunger Walk is coming up? Join our team for the 40th annual walk/run on Sunday, March 10.
The Atlanta Food Bank will match our donations DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR, so grab those sneakers and join our team! Not up for physical activity? Not to worry; you can still donate and your gift will add to the total to be matched! Use the link above and register today!
Thanks for continuing to join us for the journey! We can't think of any better road trip partners to have than our incredible team of volunteers and donors.
With much gratitude and respect,
The Solidarity Sandy Springs Team
